Vikram Shroff is part of the leadership team of UPL, he has been passionately driving continuous organizational improvement with his dynamic leadership, sound strategic insights and outstanding people management skills.

Blessed with the ability to look into the minutest details, Vikram has set challenging cross-functional aspirations for the company, leveraging the organizational values towards excellence. He is instrumental in making strategic decisions for the Company, leads many of the functions and has been responsible in the execution of several projects of the group.

A philanthropist to the core, Vikram is very enthusiastic about the social development projects and the educational endeavors of the Shroff family that benefit more than 5,600 students annually. He believes in spreading the light of knowledge through innovative learning methods and leads a team that constantly strives for the same.

Diego Casanello

Global COO - Crop Protection

Diego Lopez Casanello is currently in the role of Global Chief Operating Officer for Crop protection, since UPL acquired Arysta LifeScience in February 2019. Prior to the acquisition, Diego served as Global Chief Executive Officer of Arysta LifeScience from February 2016.

In his tenure as leader of Arysta, Diego completed the integration of Chemtura Agrosolutions, the Agriphar Group and Arysta LifeScience, and implemented a strategy that focused the business on high growth specialty segments and sustainable technologies, expanding Arysta’s EBITDA margin and doubling the peak sales value potential of its R&D pipeline.

Ajit Premnath

Business Mentor - Crop Protection

Ajit Premnath, started his career with UPL in 2003. He led the LATAM business, after which he moved to Europe as Regional Head. In the year 2015, Ajit moved to Global HQ as the Global Marketing Director for UPL Crop protection business. He established a strong global portfolio management function and set the direction for the marketing team at UPL. In 2016 Ajit moved into the role of COO & Global Business Head - Crop Protection. Currently Ajit holds the position of Business Mentor, Crop Protection, focusing on the leadership of strategic initiatives and ensuring a seamless cultural integration across the two organizations.

Carlos Pellicer

COO - Integration Global Strategy and Special Growth Initiatives

Carlos Pellicer is currently in the role of COO Integration, Global Strategy and Special Growth Initiatives. He works closely with marketing, R&D and strategic alliances to drive strategic growth initiatives for UPL. Decco is also managed by Carlos.

Carlos became part of UPL as the Business leader for Brazil in 2011 through the integration of DVA in Brazil. In 2017 Carlos moved into the role of COO – Global Strategy, Innovation and NPD and focused on defining the long term strategy roadmap for the Crop protection business along with managing the business responsibilities for Decco.

Sagar Kaushik

Global Head Corporate Affairs

Sagar Kaushik is currently in the role of Global Head – Corporate Affairs. He joined UPL in 2011, as the COO- UPL Crop Protection business. He successfully led the business teams to develop new products, technologies and expand the UPL footprint in multiple new markets. In 2017, Sagar moved into a new role of Global Head - Corporate Affairs.

Prior to joining UPL, Sagar brings with him more than 30 years of experience in several leadership positions with Aventis Corp Science, Bayer Crop Science in countries like Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Germany & India. His last assignment was in Germany as the Head of Crop Management for Bayer.

Adrian Percy

Chief Technology Officer

Adrian Percy, with more than 25 years of experience in the agricultural industry, is an advocate of the need for and benefits of modern agriculture. He is also a strong proponent of the development and adoption of new agricultural and food technologies that support global food security while conserving the environment.

Adrian currently serves as the CTO of UPL Ltd, a major crop protection company that is a leader in global food systems. He also serves as a Venture Partner at Finistere Ventures LLC, a technology and life sciences venture capital investor, focused on transforming the food value chain.

Previously, Adrian served as the head of research and development for the Crop Science division of Bayer as part of their executive committee. In this role, he had responsibility for internal and open innovation activities in the areas of crop protection chemistry and biologicals, as well as seeds and traits. During his 16-year tenure at Bayer, he also led crop protection development activities for Bayer in North America and regulatory affairs activities across the entire division of Crop Science.

A global ag advocate, he has held numerous positions in the research and development departments of Rhone Poulenc, Aventis CropScience and Bayer in France, Germany and the United States.

Adrian serves on the board of directors of BioLumic, HiFidelity Genetics, AgroSavfe and Evogene. He is also a member of the science and technology boards of Terramera and Rothamsted Research.

Born and raised in the United Kingdom, Adrian earned a bachelor’s degree in pharmacology at the University of Liverpool, as well as a master’s degree in toxicology and a doctorate in biochemistry at the University of Birmingham. He now resides in the Research Triangle area of North Carolina, USA.

Rajendra Darak

Group CFO

Rajendra Darak has been with UPL since the year 1997 and is currently working as the Group CFO. He has been instrumental in proving leadership and guidance to multiple functions within UPL from mergers and acquisitions to strategic developments into new businesses, corporate finance, resources mobilization, both on-shore and off-shore. Rajendra is part of the corporate leadership team which looks after all the Group's growth initiatives.

Sanjay Singh

Global CHRO

Sanjay Singh joined UPL as the Global Chief Human Resource Officer in September, 2018. Sanjay began his career in Civil Services of India, where he served the Indian Railways for 10 years. His foray into the private sector took him to Dr. Reddy's where he handled multiple global assignments in Russia & Europe. He then moved to Tata Motors as Head of HR for the commercial vehicle division including international operations. In his last assignment with Crompton Greaves he was designated as Executive VP & Global Head - Human Resources and was a member of the Executive Committee.

Paula Pinto

Global Head Strategic Alliances and B2B

Paula Pinto is Global Head of Strategic Alliances and B2B. She is also co-leading the integration effort following the acquisition of Arysta LifeScience by UPL. Paula joined Arysta LifeScience in 2010 as Head of Global Marketing. She was appointed Head of Integration for Arysta LifeScience in August 2018. Prior to this appointment, she recently held the positions of Vice President of Global Procurement and Third Party Relations and Vice President of Global Portfolio Management.

Previously, Paula had a career in the specialty chemicals sector spanning 21 years in Momentive and its predecessor companies—including Union Carbide, OSI Specialties Corporation, and GE Silicones. In Momentive and predecessor companies, she filled a range of senior roles of increasing responsibility in operations, business management, and marketing, from Plant Manager, Brazil, to Latin America Sales and Marketing Director, Specialty Fluids, to her last position as Global Marketing Director, Silicone Fluids. Originally from Brazil, Paula has lived in multiple world regions, is fluent in four languages.

Raj Tiwari

Global Head of Supply Chain & Manufacturing

Raj Tiwari has been with UPL since 2011. He started in the role of Global leader for Manufacturing Projects & Lead for Indirect Procurement. Raj has been a part of the Global Supply Chain & Manufacturing leadership team at UPL. He has been known for successfully leading large turnkey projects that enabled UPL for meeting its growth objectives. Raj managed the role of Head - Technical Manufacturing for India for a year before he took on the role of Global Head - Supply Chain Management.

Rico Toft Christensen

Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)

Rico Toft Christensen is currently in the role of Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for UPL. He started his career with Cheminova as a management trainee soon after graduating from business school in Denmark. While at Cheminova, he assumed roles of increasing responsibility serving both abroad and locally. He was moved to Brazil in 2002, and served as the president of Cheminova Brazil from 2004 to 2007. From early 2008 to 2010, he moved back to Denmark to lead the global marketing function, and in 2011 he moved to the US to lead Cheminova's North American business.

In 2015, Rico moved to Arysta Lifescience as Regional Business head for North America, Australia & New Zealand. Rico has more than 20 years of experience in agro solutions.

Farokh N. Hilloo

Chief Commercial Officer (CCO)

Farokh Hilloo is currently in the role of Chief Commercial Officer. He commenced his career with a Pharmaceutical company- Themis Chemicals where he worked for 7 years.

He joined UPL in 1991 and has hold several key leadership positions for UPL. His last assignment was Vice President - International Business and was in charge of Rest of The World which constituted about 17% of the company's total turnover.

In 2010, Farokh took up the role of Global Sales Director and was responsible for sales and profitability. He also played an active role in marketing, regulatory affairs, new product development and strategic sourcing.

Bhupen Dubey

COO - Seeds

Bhupen Dubey, COO – Seeds has been with the UPL Group for 15 years, where he has had a dynamic career moving from a regional role in India to Regional Business lead for India, before moving into role of Chief Executive Officer -Seeds business in 2016. Bhupen has played a key role in managing and integrating companies within the UPL group such as Advanta/ UPL, Golden Seeds and Unicorn. He has been driving essential integrations to bring profitable and sustainable growth for the UPL business.

Paresh Talati

Global Head of Chemistry R&D

Paresh Talati, Global Head – Chemistry R&D, joined UPL in 1994. He has been instrumental in creating a strong business focused R&D organization that has contributed immensely towards UPL's growth objectives.

Paresh has over 37 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and agri-inputs industry.

K. R. Srivastava

COO - Speciality Chemicals

K.R. Srivastava (KRS), COO - Speciality Chemicals, joined UPL in 1999. He has held several senior leadership positions in the UPL Crop Protection business. KRS played an instrumental role in the scale up of our manufacturing footprint, Operational excellence through projects in his role as the leader for the Global Supply Chain & Manufacturing organization, In 2016, KRS took up the opportunity to develop the Specialty Chemicals business at a global level as the CEO- Specialty Chemicals for UPL.

Anand Vora

Global CFO

Anand Vora joined UPL as Global Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He joined UPL from Bunge India where he worked in senior finance roles both within India and internationally. He brings in more than 31 years of experience.

Previously, Anand has held several leadership positions in finance with companies such as Dow Chemicals, Ranbaxy and Piramal Group.

Rohit Kumar

Global General Counsel

Rohit Kumar joined UPL in 2010. He is the Global General Counsel of UPL where he leads a team of close to 20 in-house lawyers overseeing all aspects of legal work relating to the company.

Rohit brings over 16 years experience dealing with mergers, acquisitions and other corporate law issues. Prior to UPL, Rohit has worked as a Commercial lawyer for Herbert Smith Freehills in Melbourne, Australia and J. Sagar Associates in New Delhi, India.

Fabio Torretta

Region Head
Brazil

Fabio Torretta is currently the Regional Head of Brazil. Fabio brings more than 35 years of experience in Agri-inputs industry including Crop Protection, Animal Nutrition and Fertilizer. Fabio has achieved superior results in multiple markets by building high performance teams and flawless execution of the Strategy plan. Prior to his current role, Fabio led Arysta’s business in Southern Africa and post that he moved to LATAM as Regional Busines Head in 2015.

Prior to working with UPL, Fabio has managed leadership roles in Sales and Marketing with companies in Agri-inputs industry like Socil Evialis Animal Nutrition and Fersol Ind. E Comercio S/A.

Vicente Gongora

Region Head
North America

Vicente Gongora, Regional Head – North America, joined UPL in 2011 and came through the integration of DVA in Brazil. He has been focused on developing strategic plans to advance the company's Corporate Identity in the US market and drive profitable growth.

Prior to this, he was in a Marketing, R&D and Regulatory leader role for UPL, Brazil. He has solid experience in developing new concepts and campaigns on the portfolio front, coupled with strong technical expertise and solid team work ability.

Vicente has an experience of over 35 years in handling businesses in the Agrochemical industry. He has worked in critical roles for FMC in Brazil and South America & Cyanamid in Brazil and Paraguay.

Europe

Trevor Holland is currently Europe BU Head, and has been in the crop protection industry for 35 years.

He started originally in the UK with a distributor before moving to BASF where he spent 15 years in various sales and marketing positions, first of all in the UK then in Germany with global responsibilities, and finally in Canada with some NAFTA responsibilities.

In 2006, he came back to Europe with UPL as Sales Director. In 2015 he was appointed Business Head for Europe and has been with UPL since.

Sameer Tandon joined UPL in 2016 as the Regional Head of India. He leads UPL's business teams for Crop Protection, AFS ( Adarsh Farm Services ) in India.

Sameer brings with him an experience of over 26 years in handling a wide variety of businesses with both B2B & B2C business models. He has worked in leadership positions for diverse industries including FMCG, Automotive, Consumer Durables and Agri-inputs handling strategic functions along with P&L responsibilities. Prior to joining UPL, Sameer has worked with organizations such as Castrol, Monsanto India Ltd, Escorts Agri-Machinery etc.

Hisaya Kobayashi

Region Head
Asia

Hisaya Kobayashi is the Regional Head of Asia. He was with Arysta LifeScience and one of Arysta's predecessor companies, Tomen Corporation, since 1991.

Kobayashi's international career began in corporate planning and sales to Latin America and Southeast Asia for Tomen Corporation, Tokyo. With Arysta LifeScience, he then served as marketing and supply chain director in Brazil and head of supply chain for Europe Africa Middle East. Prior to his current position in Japan and Asia, he was based in Pau, France, where he served as regional director for Central and Eastern Europe.

Marcel Dreyer is the Regional Head of Africa, Middle East, Australia and New Zealand (AMEANZ). In the past, he has handled multiple leadership roles in Hyper Agrochemical Pvt ltd, Tsunami Plant Protection Pvt Ltd as Technical and Marketing Director.

Jagdish Nainwal is the Regional Head of LATAM. Prior to managing LATAM, Jagdish was leading Mexico business as its Country Manager. He started his 2nd journey in UPL in the year 2014 in the Global Marketing team as a Global Portfolio Lead - Insecticides. He comes with more than 18 years of experience in Sales, Marketing and P&L management. He has strong functional and business understanding which has been built through diverse roles that he has managed in UPL and externally.

Prior to joining UPL, Jagdish has worked in different multi-national companies in the Agri-inputs industry such as BASF & Pioneer Hi-Bred international (A DuPont Company).

Adrian serves on the board of directors of BioLumic, HiFidelity Genetics, AgroSavfe and Evogene. He is also a member of the science and technology boards of Terramera and Rothamsted Research.

Born and raised in the United Kingdom, Adrian earned a bachelor’s degree in pharmacology at the University of Liverpool, as well as a master’s degree in toxicology and a doctorate in biochemistry at the University of Birmingham. He now resides in the Research Triangle area of North Carolina, USA.

Rajendra Darak has been with UPL since the year 1997 and is currently working as the Group CFO. He has been instrumental in proving leadership and guidance to multiple functions within UPL from mergers and acquisitions to strategic developments into new businesses, corporate finance, resources mobilization, both on-shore and off-shore. Rajendra is part of the corporate leadership team which looks after all the Group's growth initiatives.

He then moved to Tata Motors as Head of HR for the commercial vehicle division including international operations. Paula Pinto

Global Head Strategic Alliances and B2B

Paula Pinto is Global Head of Strategic Alliances and B2B. She is also co-leading the integration effort following the acquisition of Arysta LifeScience by UPL. Paula joined Arysta LifeScience in 2010 as Head of Global Marketing. She was appointed Head of Integration for Arysta LifeScience in August 2018. Prior to this appointment, she recently held the positions of Vice President of Global Procurement and Third Party Relations and Vice President of Global Portfolio Management.

Previously, Paula had a career in the specialty chemicals sector spanning 21 years in Momentive and its predecessor companies—including Union Carbide, OSI Specialties Corporation, and GE Silicones. In Momentive and predecessor companies, she filled a range of senior roles of increasing responsibility in operations, business management, and marketing, from Plant Manager, Brazil, to Latin America Sales and Marketing Director, Specialty Fluids, to her last position as Global Marketing Director, Silicone Fluids. Originally from Brazil, Paula has lived in multiple world regions, is fluent in four languages.

Raj Tiwari has been with UPL since 2011. He started in the role of Global leader for Manufacturing Projects & Lead for Indirect Procurement. Raj has been a part of the Global Supply Chain & Manufacturing leadership team at UPL. Rico Toft Christensen

Rico Toft Christensen is currently in the role of Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for UPL. He started his career with Cheminova as a management trainee soon after graduating from business school in Denmark. While at Cheminova, he assumed roles of increasing responsibility serving both abroad and locally. He was moved to Brazil in 2002, and served as the president of Cheminova Brazil from 2004 to 2007. From early 2008 to 2010, he moved back to Denmark to lead the global marketing function, and in 2011 he moved to the US to lead Cheminova's North American business.

In 2015, Rico moved to Arysta Lifescience as Regional Business head for North America, Australia & New Zealand. Rico has more than 20 years of experience in agro solutions.
